Plasma glucose, plasma cortisol, and serum GH levels are shown in a normal (a) and a hypopituitary (b) subject. GH levels should rise to a minimum of 20mu/l and cortisol to 580nmol/l, provided that adequate hypoglycaemia is reached with blood glucose concentrations ┬▓2.2mmol/l.
